Illegal Immigrants: What Would Jesus Do?

I saw a segment on ABC News where an evangelical Christian woman was leading a group to go out into the Arizona desert to give aid to illegals crossing into our country from Mexico. They carry packages of food and water with them and give them to illegals they come across. They also sometimes carry illegals to medical aid, they bandage their wounds, etc.

The woman says this is precisely what Jesus would do. She says she understands the need to obey the law and even Christ’s command to obey governmental laws…but, more than that- there’s grace.

I disagree with her outlook. I don’t think Jesus would be approving of people coming into our country without any right to do so, disrespecting our nation and our laws and saying to heck with all of us by coming here and breaking the law by doing so.

Jesus said we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. I wouldn’t think it fair for me to cross into Mexico, disrespecting their laws, cutting in line in front of millions who want to come here legally and have been waiting patiently in line, sometimes for many years.

I’m all about fairness, obeying the law, and respect for the nation and the people. The people have shown they don’t approve of illegals coming here. In regards to fairness- it’s just not fair period for many reasons. You’re cutting in line in front of many others who are waiting in line and doing things in a legal manner to get here. You’re disrespecting those who are following the rules. Do you think illegals would want these people cutting in line in front of them? Now, we’re back to doing to others as you would want them to do to you. Certainly, we’re not following Christ’s command by being unfair to those who follow the rules.

Christ said to love your neighbor, but he was also fair and just. Breaking the law and cutting in front of others is neither fair not just.

On top of that- illegals pose a security threat. The Bible makes it clear that security should be a concern for a nation and that protecting your family and your nation in various ways is a good thing. It’s what you have to do, or else be overrun by outsiders who eventually destroy the nation. Think of the illegals coming in- who’s to say that some of them haven’t been paid to carry in explosives? Chemical weapons? Biological weapons? Even nuclear weapons?

Who’s to say that some of those crossing illegally aren’t from rogue nations? Who’s to say some of these men and women aren’t terrorists coming here to attack us? Anyone with common sense takes these things into consideration when pondering this issue.

Like I said- Christ said to love our neighbors, but he was all about justice, fairness, and he surely wouldn’t tell a people to forgo security in order to let one group of people disrespect another in the manner illegals disrespect Americans, American law, and legal immigrants who have been waiting in line and playing by the rules.

Polls: How Can So Many Be So Clueless?

You’ve got to wonder about polls taken when it comes to politics, our leaders, etc. New polls out show that Bush has low ratings. Fine, I don’t care…99% of these people polled probably can’t even name the vice president and they’re simply going off with the mainstream media feeds them everynight at 6PM. That’s true for most Americans in general.

The numbers that concern me are the approval numbers on the economy. It seems that Americans are completely clueless as to the fact that the economy is ROARING. Last month there were over 250, 000 new jobs created and unemployment is statisically nonexistant. It stands at 4.7%, and that means that nearly every person who is able and willing to work IS doing so. The numbers don’t lie- everything is up and the economy is just completely taking off.

Yet, in the poll, only 4 out of 10 Americans approve of Bush’s handling of the economy!! The report says that high gas prices might be playing into thus number…but if that’s true, then that means that Americans are REALLY ignorant of the facts, as Bush clearly has NOTHING to do with the price of oil! I mean, really- is a reality check too much to ask for, folks?

I’m starting to think that actually following national news should be a requirement to vote. Too many people who are completely ignorant of what’s actually going on, merely getting a few bits of info from the news, and then turning their brains off in this regard, go out and vote and have no idea who they’re voting for or why…who they approve or and why, why they think so and so is doing a poor job. It’s time Americans who vote and take part actually TAKE PART and follow the issues at hand. Voting should be an informed decision, not something that a populace ignorant of the issues does on a Tuesday evening in between episodes of Friends and fast food.

Jill Carroll Anti-American?

I haven’t followed this very closely…but Debbie Schlussel seems to think Jill Carroll is no friend of the US.

She links to her other articles on this issue. Frankly, I’m a bit confused.

Tho, I can say that I found it VERY odd that Carroll went on and on about how friendly her kidnappers were, how they never harmed her (tho she was sobbing in the video they forced her to make!), let her use the bathroom (oh golly, how nice of them), etc. She came off as very odd…anti-American? Not sure. She seems way too friendly with the anti-American groups over in Iraq tho. More later possibly if I can get a better idea of what the deal is.

Racist Rep. Cynthia McKinney Punches Cop

Rep. Cynthia McKinney- the nutjob of nutjobs in the US House…this woman has been an unhinged radical for the entirety of her career. She’s had numerous problems, including run-ins with the law over campaign contributions, business problems, and worse.

She protested the 1991 Iraq war, causing legislators to walk out on her inane remarks. She claimed President Bush knew about the Sept 11 attacks before they happened, when she said:

“We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11… Those engaged in unusual stock trades immediately before September 11 knew enough to make millions of dollars from United and American airlines, certain insurance and brokerage firms’ stocks. What did the Administration know, and when did it know it about the events of September 11? Who else knew and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered?”

She attacked Al Gore by race baiting him with this comment:
“Al Gore’s Negro tolerance level has never been too high. I’ve never known him to have more than one black person around him at any given time.”

Unfortunately for the clueless McKinney, Gore’s campaign manager was Donna Brazile, a BLACK FEMALE.

She changed her hairstyle recently and was asked to show ID to Capitol Police yesterday (the officer didn’t recognize her). She refuses to wear her Congressional pin as she is supposed to. When grabbed by the arm for going thru the barriers without permission, she (according to witnesses) punched the officer in the chest. One news report of the affair state that there was a chance of her being arrested after Wednesday’s session. I don’t think she was arrested afterall- her statement on her website doesn’t mention any of this.

That same news report quotes an unconfirmed statement that states:

“Do I have to contact the police every time I change my hairstyle? How do we account for the fact that when I wore my braids every day for 11 years, I still faced this problem, primarily from certain white police officers,” the statement says.

“I was rushing to my meeting when a white police officer yelled to me. He approached me, bodyblocked me, physically touching me. I used my arm to get him off of me. I told him not to touch me several times. He asked for my ID and I showed it to him. He then let me go and I proceeded to my meeting and I assume that the Police Officer resumed his duties. I have counseled with the Sergeant-at-Arms and Acting Assistant Chief Thompson several times before and counseled with them again on today’s incident. I offered also to counsel with the offending police officer.”

This certainly fits McKinney’s racist past with her comments I mentioned above, as well as these issues with McKinney and her racial obsession:

Attacks on Christianity

You’d be hard pressed to deny that Christianity is constantly singled out in the United States for attack…especially when it comes to our schools and our government.

Falwell has a nice article that shows this very well.

CHRISTIANITY, THE EASTER BUNNY AND ‘DIVERSITY DAYS’

Date: March 23, 2006

From: Jerry Falwell

I read with interest a news story this week in which a St. Paul, Minn., official decided to outlaw the Easter Bunny because the furry creature might offend “non-Christians.”

I don’t know what’s more disturbing — that this guy believes the Easter Bunny actually has something to do with the Christian celebration of Easter or that he is part of a larger problem in which pompous officials jump on the politically-correct bandwagon to eradicate all mention of religion (specifically Christianity) in public squares across our nation.

In this example, a toy rabbit, pastel-colored eggs and a sign with the words “Happy Easter” were removed from city council offices, the Associated Press reported.

Yeah, we sure wouldn’t want that artificial green grass and those colorful little eggs to alarm some innocent bystander who happens along.

Why, they might mistake those decorations as an endorsement of religion!

Don’t laugh — that’s about how ridiculous the modern anti-religious freedom movement has become. Groups like Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, American Atheists and the American Civil Liberties Union are working to fashion a sanitized, religion-free public square; these groups habitually deny and rewrite our nation’s history in order to enact their reprehensible agenda.

City leaders and education officials across this country have been so duped by this effort that even the most negligible reference to religion — or something as non-religious as the Easter Bunny that is perceived as religious — is outlawed.

In an unrelated event, earlier this week, in Wisconsin, a high school official cancelled a so-called “diversity day” when it was learned that a group of Christians, including former homosexuals, wanted to present Bible-based perspectives on homosexuality.

Viroqua High School officials had planned to present the viewpoints of several religions — including Hmong (an Asian ethnic group), Jews, Muslims, Native Americans, African-Americans, homosexuals, Latinos, Buddhists, the physically disadvantaged and the economically disadvantaged — but not the views of Christians.

Diversity day?

Right.

When a school official reported that the viewpoints of Christians and former homosexuals would be excluded, a resident contacted the Orlando, Fla.-based Liberty Counsel on behalf of several concerned Viroqua residents.

Liberty Counsel attorneys then sent a letter to the district administrator, explaining that the censorship of Christians and former homosexuals violated the Establishment Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment equal protection guarantee. After receiving no response, Liberty Counsel sent another letter a few days letter to the same official and the board of education.

Two days later, the diversity day event was cancelled.

This is a clear example of how anti-Christian many local officials have become.

There are untold thousands of former homosexuals (or ex-gays) in our nation who are flourishing in their new lives. But they are shunned as if they have the plague because they don’t fit into the “diversity” of the so-called mainstream.

Mathew D. Staver, president and general counsel of Liberty Counsel, said of the case, “This is yet another attempt to indoctrinate our youth with the harmful message that homosexuals cannot change. While touting the message of tolerance, homosexual activists refuse to be tolerant of opposing viewpoints. Our youth deserve to know the truth about homosexuality — that people can choose to overcome same-sex attractions and that acting on those attractions results in devastating physical, mental, and spiritual consequences.”

I have no doubt that the same officials who want to disallow all Christian expression on campuses or in public squares would at the same time have no problem with promoting “The Da Vinci Code,” or some other book or movie that disparages Jesus Christ.

There is no level playing field when it comes to the religious freedoms of conservative people of faith. We are literally viewed as second-class citizens by many in leadership in this nation.

Is Helen Thomas Insane?

UPDATE: AP story on press conference, Drudge transcript of Thomas’ question

UPDATE 2: Check out this recent piece by Brent Bozell on Thomas

Helen Thomas’ question to President Bush during today’s press conference:

“I’d like to ask you, Mr. President, your decision to invade Iraq has caused the deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis, wounds of Americans and Iraqis for a lifetime. Every reason given, publicly at least, has turned out not to be true. My question is, why did you really want to go to war? From the moment you stepped into the White House, from your Cabinet — your Cabinet officers, intelligence people, and so forth — what was your real reason? You have said it wasn’t oil — quest for oil, it hasn’t been Israel, or anything else. What was it?”

Of course, this is all a flat out lie. I espcially like her mention of oil and Israel. How on earth do you get Israel out of this? Leave it Helen’s confused mind to get from Iraq to Israel.

It’s also absurd to claim Bush wanted to go to war the day he stepped into office. He never made much of a mention on Iraq or any military actions untile after 9/11. The president made that clear today when he said:

“I think your premise — in all due respect to your question and to you as a lifelong journalist — is that — I didn’t want war. To assume I wanted war is just flat wrong, Helen, in all due respect –”

(Thomas tries to interrupt numerous times)…

“…Excuse me, excuse me. No President wants war. Everything you may have heard is that, but it’s just simply not true. My attitude about the defense of this country changed on September the 11th. We — when we got attacked, I vowed then and there to use every asset at my disposal to protect the American people. Our foreign policy changed on that day, Helen. You know, we used to think we were secure because of oceans and previous diplomacy. But we realized on September the 11th, 2001, that killers could destroy innocent life. And I’m never going to forget it. And I’m never going to forget the vow I made to the American people that we will do everything in our power to protect our people.”

Thomas then made the claim that: “They [Iraq] didn’t do anything to you, or to our country.”

That is nonsense as well. We had a cease fire agreement 12 years before this war that was broken every single day. We had Iraqi govt officers who tried to assassinate President Bush Sr. We had Americans murdered in Israel by terrorist bombers- and Saddam Hussein publicly gave checks to the families of these terrorists in order to murder civilians. Hussein built terrorist training camps with the intent to spread terror to kill innocent people, including American civilians. He did much more, but from this short list you can see that Thomas is dead wrong to make the bogus claim that the nation did nothing to the United States.

Her implication that Hussein did nothing to justify removal from power is also ludicrous. Shall we go thru the list- the rape and torture rooms, the mass graves, the use of chemical weapons on his own people, his invasion of neighboring countries, his attacks on allied jets on patrol in the no-fly zone, etc…Has Thomas forgotten all of these facts?

Now…We have to ask some very serious questions about Thomas…

One has to seriously question the sanity of ol’ Helen. She’s old…we know that. She’s a radical leftist that makes Al Gore look sane. So, we have to wonder if she’s actually literally insane. As in- does she has something wrong with her mentally? I ask this question in all seriousness.

Watching this hold bag ask inane questions during presidential press conferences and press briefings, one easily gets the sense that, yes- Helen Thomas does have severe mental issues…that she might, indeed, be insane at this point in her life. Then again, Helen Thomas has always been this crazy, so maybe age has nothing to do with it. Was it her upbringing? Is the insanity actually in her genes? I’m no genetic determinist, not by a long shot, but maybe Helen is a special case? Perhaps?

I’ll try to find a transcript of video of her idiotic questions of the president today to prove my point that she might be slowly slipping even further into insanity…

More to come…

O’Reilly on Judge Connor of Ohio Part 2 (with Video)

Here’s the second segment [download 3mb video] Bill O’Reilly did on this Judge Connor of Ohio.

He interviews two women who lost children due to Connor’s actions. A drunk driver killed two young people, Ashley Hach (19) and Scott Rollins (20)…problem is- this was a guy with numerous arrests and he violated his parole. Even AFTER violating his parole, it seems Connor went to bat for him to make sure he didn’t get any jail time.

Ashley Hack and Scott Rollins

This is what Judge Connor said of the man who repeatedly raped two minor boys. Remember, Connor has been arrested at least 8 times and convicted at least twice of drunk driving (he claims he has a disease). Also, there was one case where Connor was found with cocaine. Here’s what Connor said of the rapist:

Judge Connor refuses to punish child rapist

The judge also refused, as I mentioned, to punish a drunk driver. Jose Sanpallo killed the teens I listed above while driving drunk…driving on the wrong side of the road, hitting them head on. Sanpallo had an extensive rap sheet with a DUI arrest conviction already on that record. Sanpallo was killed in the wreck as well. Judge Connor had him released early from prison and even tho the guy violated his parole, he wouldn’t punish him and give him any jail time.

Connie Hach and Melissa Rollins talk to Bill about the judge, who they think shouldn’t even been allowed on the bench to begin with.

I will try to have his second segment from the next day where he talked to two mothers of a young boy and girl both killed by a drunk driver who this judge refused to put behind bars, even after he violated his parole. I missed the 3rd segment (from Wed, I think) where O’Reilly was supposed to have the Ohio atty general on.

Ohio Judge Lets Child Rapist Go

UPDATE 3/17/06, 4:20 AM: I had a slight delay, but I got the video up from O’Reilly’s segment of this judge.

Bill O'Reilly on Judge Connor of Ohio
O’Reilly on Judge Connor of Ohio

I will try to have his second segment from the next day where he talked to two mothers of a young boy and girl both killed by a drunk driver who this judge refused to put behind bars, even after he violated his parole. I missed the 3rd segment (from Wed, I think) where O’Reilly was supposed to have the Ohio atty general on.
———————-

A judge in Ohio, some guy named Connor, refused to give a man who raped two boys any jail time. He said that the perp in this case “has a disease” like the judge himself has a disease. The judge is an alcoholic who has been busted for DWI 8 TIMES!! He’s been convicted of DWI twice according to a woman interviewed on Fox News.

How a judge is sitting on the bench after being convicted twice of drunk driving- that alone boggles the mind.

Now, first off- alcoholism is not a disease. That’s nonsense. They claim that it’s genetic, that the child of an “alcoholic” is more likely than a child of a non-alcoholic to become one himself. There might be a genetic component here in a broad sense, but I doubt even this much. I know of no study where they have identified any alcoholic gene outside of the 1990 study which was completely flawed and showed totally contradictory information1…for the most part, you will never find a particular gene corresponding to a particular behavior- the number of different genes is just too small (only about 30, 000) to cover all or even most of human behavior.

Also- there is NO other “disease” that I know of where a person can actually give themselves the disease. Sure, you can smoke and increase your risks of lung cancer, or you can drink yourself into liver cancer, but the supposed inability to stop drinking is something you bring on yourself 100% (unless they’ve created new bottles that walk to your mouth and pour themselves into your body when you’re not paying attention!)

So, the judge wants to use the age-old excuse, “I have a disease,” and he links that to this child rapist, who the judge claims also has a disease. This is nonsense. Instead of giving the guy 10 yrs, as he should have done, the judge gave the rapist probation! The guy, from the reporting I saw, is on house arrest, ready to be back on the street soon terrorizing more children if he chooses to do so.

Now, if the judge thought he had a disease, he could have ordered him to seek treatment, but as far as I can tell- this wasn’t done.

This case, as O’Reilly points out, and I totally agree, is even worse than the judge in Vermont who claimed that he didn’t give the rapist jail time because there was no chance of him receiving treatment in jail.

I’ll try to look more into this and report back later.
