In His Zeal to Attack Fox News and Worship Obama, Jon Stewart Reveals His Baseball Ignorance
Jul 16th
Jon Stewart hates Fox News with a passion. He’s also a liberal who adores Barack Obama. With these two traits in mind, he makes a fool of himself by confusing his baseball terminology and bogusly attacking Fox News (again).
Fox and Friends’ hosts Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocy both mentioned that Obama threw out the first pitch and that the catcher “dug it out of the dirt.” Stewart takes exception with this, and then proceeds to claim the two are merely bald-faced liars by saying this (in the video below):
| The Daily Show With Jon Stewart | Mon – Thurs 11p / 10c | |||
| Obama’s All-Star Pitch | ||||
|
||||
“If you’re just going to make shit up about what happened, maybe you shouldn’t do it while the videotape that contradicts you is playing.”
A rational person does research…usually a good idea in order to not make a fool of yourself.
I’m a rational person, so I took a second to check out the video myself and to do a teeny tiny bit of research. When your hatred of Fox News is ever-present, chances are you’re about to make an ass of yourself, and Stewart didn’t disappoint.
According to Wikipedia’s list of baseball jargon, one can, with a quick 30 second google search find this:
dig it out
* To field a ball on or near the ground. Usually a first baseman taking a low throw from another infielder. To “dig it out of the dirt.”
* To run hard through first base on a close ground ball play in an attempt to beat the throw.
Now, I don’t know about you, but if I can take less than a minute to do a quick search to discover the meaning of the jargon “dig it out of the dirt,” then Stewart, who hosts a popular television show to an international audience should be able to do the same. I guess that’s what happens when your hatred consumes and overtakes your ability to do an ounce of research on any topic, or for that matter even put forth an ounce of brain power to decide an issue.
Kathleen Parker Attacks Evangelicals, Runs for Office of Dumbest “Conservative” Columnist in America
Nov 20th
Kathleen Parker seems to get dumber as the weeks go by. She wrote a column a while back claiming that part of the reason McCain picked Palin was because he was somehow a dirty old man and thought Palin sexy. Then, she went on an obsessive spree of articles attacking Palin and basically demanding she resign from the ticket because she was so unqualified and clueless (in Parker’s eyes).
Realizing she hadn’t done enough to make American conservatives despise her, she wrote an article Wednesday attacking evangelical Christians. The special strain of evaneglicals that, ya know, actually back up their core values and ideals with actions. Those silly bastards that claim to be Christian then actually, get this, practice the values outlined in the Bible (madness, I tell ya. Madness!):
To be more specific, the evangelical, right-wing, oogedy-boogedy branch of the GOP is what ails the erstwhile conservative party and will continue to afflict and marginalize its constituents if reckoning doesn’t soon cometh.
Simply put: Armband religion is killing the Republican Party. And, the truth — as long as we’re setting ourselves free — is that if one were to eavesdrop on private conversations among the party intelligentsia, one would hear precisely that.
…Which is to say, the GOP has surrendered its high ground to its lowest brows.
Armband religion?? I never understood this argument. What good does religion do if you pretend you’re not a believer when you leave the house of worship? What shall a good Christian who isn’t “oogedy-boogedy” (yes, this inane being writes for a major newspaper using phrases like “oogedy-boogedy!”) do, Ms. Parker? Pretend he or she isn’t a Christian unless they’re in the confines of a pew? Do folks like Parker really believe that Christians should confess belief in the Lord, the truthfulness of scripture, but then publicly support all forms of immoral acts in public? Don’t wear your religion as an armband! Hide in when in public!
Parker goes on, and this is when I knew she had truly and completely lost her friggin mind:
It isn’t that culture doesn’t matter. It does. But preaching to the choir produces no converts. And shifting demographics suggest that the Republican Party — and conservatism with it — eventually will die out unless religion is returned to the privacy of one’s heart where it belongs.
So, let me see if I’ve got this straight. Parker suggests that Christians should, when speaking or writing or even thinking in any form where any other human could deduce their Christian values, should actually pretend not to be Christians and take on some set of new values that go against their core belief system? Religion belongs in “the privacy of one’s heart”??!!!! That has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard in a long time from either side of the political spectrum!
What good is religion if you don’t live it daily, but instead lock it up inside, a private little lockbox where no one can see it. Refusing to let your core beliefs show, let alone putting them into practice and urging lawmakers to base their decisions on these core values (the values most of them share as well).
The Vapid Parker finishes:
“Even Sarah Palin has blamed Bush policies for the GOP loss. She’s not entirely wrong, but she’s also part of the problem. Her recent conjecture about whether to run for president in 2012 (does anyone really doubt she will?) speaks for itself:
“I’m like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I’m like, don’t let me miss the open door. Show me where the open door is. … And if there is an open door in (20)12 or four years later, and if it’s something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I’ll plow through that door.”
Let’s do pray that God shows Alaska’s governor the door.”
We get it, Kathleen, you hate hate hate Sarah Palin. How dare this ignorant slut pray for guidance. You keep that locked away in the privacy of your heart where religion belongs, little lady!
Let’s face it- Parker is clueless on religion, and worse- she’s a bigot. She dislikes religious people who actually practice their religion. In fact, Parker is just clueless in general. The left surely isn’t going to embrace her, and the right…well, I’m going out on a limb and guessing she’s lost most support there. Is it okay if I pray that the nation closes the door on Kathleen Parker’s career, or is that allowing too much religion outside of the private lockbox of my heart where religion should stay trapped?
ADDENDUM: Also note that Parker has taken to just making things up, when she says:
“Meanwhile, it isn’t necessary to evict the Creator from the public square, surrender Judeo-Christian values or diminish the value of faith in America. Belief in something greater than oneself has much to recommend it, including most of the world’s architectural treasures, our universities and even our founding documents.
But, like it or not, we are a diverse nation, no longer predominantly white and Christian. The change Barack Obama promised has already occurred, which is why he won.”
First off, I don’t even know what she’s talking about when she says the change Obama promised has already occurred, linking it to whites and Christianity. I don’t recall Obama running to bring a change in the whiteness of Christian nature of the country. Not to mention, her statement is wholly inaccurate. The most recent surveys show around 85% of Americans self-identify as Christian, and the most recent census numbers show that the US is somewhere around 75% white. So, the nation IS predominantly white AND Christian. So, why claim otherwise? Maybe she’s stating the way she wishes the country would be, without all those “low brows” and their damned religion, perhaps?
FactCheck.Org Working for Obama Campaign Now?
Nov 13th
Looks like FactCheck.Org has decided to join the Obama campaign. They posted a new item Nov 11 claiming that when Obama spoke in support of a civilian security force that he was really talking about the peace corps and the foreign service.
Here’s the relevant section of their article:
I read a quote from Rep. Paul Broun from Georgia which stated that Obama wants to set up a civilian national security force that was similar to the “Gestapo” or the Nazi Brownshirts…
Similar claims have been circulating in right-leaning blogs and conservative Web sites ever since July, when Obama made a single reference to a “civilian national security force” in a campaign speech in Colorado. Obama’s detractors make much of his expansive (and exaggerated) description of such a force as being “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the U.S. military. They also ignore the context.Obama was not talking about a “security force” with guns or police powers. He was talking specifically about expanding
AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and the USA Freedom Corps, which is the volunteer initiative launched by the Bush administration after the attacks of 9/11, and about increasing the number of trained Foreign Service officers who populate U.S. embassies overseas.
That’d be great and all, except that’s not at all what Obama said. Speaking in Colorado, he said:
Obama, July 2, Colorado Springs, CO: [As] president I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots [from 75,000] and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their effort connected to a common purpose.People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer. So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.
We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy.
We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy.
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.
We need to use technology to connect people to service. We’ll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You’ll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You’ll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.
This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.
[emphasis added by FactCheck]
That argument doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Obama was merely wanting to double the peace corps and expand the number of people in the foreign service? Neither groups are security forces in ANY sense of the word. None of these groups are “as strong” as the military in any way. Certainly, none of these groups are as well funded.
The Peace Corps is a waste of money where volunteers go around the world helping with agricultural projects, land management projects, clean water, etc. It’s not a security force. The annulal budget is under $350 million.
Foreign Service is part of the State Dept and is a diplomatic service overseas at US embassies and consulates. I can’t find the exact budget for this orgaization, but the state dept as a whole is under $20 billion.
The US military budget for FY 2009 is over $600 billion.
Clearly none of the organizations Obama mentioned are anywhere near as well funded or as strong as the military. Unless the peace corps members are now carrying rocket launchers and driving tanks. Worse, neither peace corps or foreign service could be considered national security, as both groups are overseas and neither deal with national security.
FactCheck argues the quotes mentioned by most were taken out of context, and they lump them with Obama’s comments about the peace corps and such, but the fact is he was talking about several organizations together, and this civilian security force was a separate group.
There is simply no way to argue that when Obama said he supported a civilian security force as strong and well-funded as the US military he was actually talking about the peace corps. That argument is ridiculous.
Just like Obama’s mandatory requirement that kids do 100 hours of community service a year (which he suddenly changed to a voluntary system), this is the sort of creepy comment that Obama doesn’t have to answer for. FactCheck is supposed to be a fair and objective source keeping politicians and the media accountable. Unless you’re the messiah, then they’ll clearly support your version of things, no matter how preposterous the claim.
Obama Nuts Cry “Racism!” Again (Shocker)
Nov 3rd
The Obama nuts are at it again. They’re screaming racism. This is all they do…everyone who disagrees with Barack Obama is a racist. Anyone who dares report his disturbing associations with radicals is a racist. Hell, anyone who isn’t voting for him…racist.
A couple of notes about the nonsense below posted by an Obama supporter. There’s no evidence racism has played an part in this election cycle from the GOP or the McCain camp or any of his
supporters. These claims are not only getting old, but as I said before, this sort of stuff is going to put race relations in this country back decades. No doubt. These are the tools of cowards…you disagree with me, then you’re racist. I’m fairly sure most Americans are getting completely sick of this.
Next, most of the items on this list are taken out of context. Some are outright distortions, and some don’t even make any sense.
There’s no evidence Obama is somehow the victim of racism. Not even the liberal pundits are claiming that he’s not well ahead of McCain due to racism. The study last week came out and showed McCain has been the victim of negative media coverage while Obama has been getting a pass and receiving positive coverage. The fact that Obama is in the lead is testament to the fact that there’s a double standard and he’s being given a pass. If McCain has a right wing radical pastor for 20 years, he’d be 30 points behind today. If McCain had close ties to an abortion bomber, he’d be 50 points behind today. If McCain had bought his house from a conivcted felon in a shady land deal, he’d be 25 points behind today. Christ Matthews doesn’t get a tingle us his leg when McCain speaks, that’s what he’s said a few times about listening to Obama, whom one reporter on the trail said it was hard to be objective around the candidate. Only a fool would claim Obama is in some way the victim of racism from the media or some supposed boogeyman.
Finally, listing McCain’s class ranking then propping up Biden with his degree and no ranking? Ummm, I wonder if the person who wrote this list realizes that Biden was involved in a couple of plagiarism scandals in college and that he verbally attacked a man who asked him a question at one of his rallies and bragged he was probably smarter than the guy, that he graduated in the very top of his class, only to have to admit later that he lied and graduated near the bottom of his class. McCain, as far as we know served honorably, yet the supposed post-partisans who worship Obama as a messiah attack that service for their own gain.
Disgusting.
You’d think people would have more sense, critical thinking skills, and logic to back up their idiotic lists. Alas, that’s not the case, and most people tend to be blind zombies who couldn’t be objective if their lives depended on it.
========================
What if things were switched around?
Body: From an email I just received. Good food for thought… for those inclined toward thinking:
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption i n 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
)
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama couldn’t read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama’s family had made their money from beer distribution ?
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
You could easily add to this list.
If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Education isn’t everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.
There has to be a reason that, in spite of the above, we are where we are today. Racism is one of the keys, sadly.

Don’t Believe the Lies: www. fightthesmears. com
Nancy Soderberg Is a Bald Faced Liar
Oct 23rd
Oh dear. Nancy Soderberg is an embarassment. She’s a complete and total embarassment. She appeared tonight on the O’Reilly Factor to discuss the Colin Powell endorsement of Barack Obama. Now, Bill was too nice to Powell in his talking points- he said Powell endorsed Obama because the Republicans weren’t all that nice to him over the last few years and Obama embraced him. It’s oh-so-clear why Powell endorsed Obama. It’s because he’s black. Not three months ago, Powell was on record as saying that a black president would be electrifying for him. Even saying that is disturbing, as I don’t think we need leaders based on the tone of their skin. If I said that a white president would electrify me, I’d be tagged a racist, but the double standard is, as always, there with Powell’s remarks. Obama is so far from any Republican values that a Republican endorsing him is committing career suicide. If Obama loses, Powell is a goner…he loses all respect from the right, and he’s already hated by the left. The blacks who play the race card along with him will love adore him tho.
Anyhow. Soderberg discussed Powell and said that the hateful attacks coming from the McCain camp are basically beyond the pale, and that’s why Obama got the Powell endorsement.
Now, as Bill pointed out, McCain has bent over backwards to condemn attacks against Obama’s character, and he’s even refused to use his close ties to his racist anti-American pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Obama, on the other hand, took part in the kos convention last year…you’ll recall the Daily Kos is a hate site run by one of the most disgusting people in the country, who once said that the murdered contract workers in Iraq deserved what they got. So, to claim McCain hate is absurd.
On the issue of Ayers, like Obama himself, Soderberg told a blatant lie and proclaimed there was no association between Obama and Ayers at all. Thankfully, O’Reilly called her on this bald-faced lie and told her that if she was going to tell outright lies, they couldn’t even have a conversation, because such lies are an insult to his viewers. I couldn’t agree more. A grown woman who is supposed to have some brain cells in her head telling complete lies that can easily be torn to shreds is a disgusting site, and frankly I think we’re all tired of it. As O’Reilly pointed out, the two men served on two separate boards together, Obama held an event at Ayers’ home, and Obama wrote a blurb for Ayers’ book, so to claim no association was a lie that he wouldn’t stand for.
I’ll say it again- Nancy Soderberg is a liar and an embarassment. If these are the types of surrogates Obama has, no wonder he can’t tell the truth himself. You surround yourself with people who will lie for you, you probably find it easier to lie yourself. This nonsense is getting old, and it’s time for the campaign and the surrogates to stop lying to the American people. Hacks like Soderberg need to get their acts together, because I think we’re all pretty tired of this crap.
Obama Sr. Spokesman, Robert Gibbs Lies Again About Ayers
Oct 20th
Now, I know some of the idiots out there drone on about how the issue of Obama’s close ties to a radical terrorist aren’t important…but, let’s face it, those people are brain dead morons who wouldn’t know important if it bit them in the ass. Of course, the fact that the man has no qualms about being associated with radicals is a legitimate issue, and it brings to mind so many questions I can’t even begin to ask them all.
Well, Obama’s senior spokesman, Robert Gibbs, is fibbing again. This is the same hack who spent 10 mins refusing to answer a simple question from Time’s Mark Halperin* on when Obama knew of Ayers terrorist past. Gibbs was embarassing himself by proclaiming he answered the question when, in fact, he never answered anything. Hint, when campaigns can’t answer questions on a particular subject even after given 10 mins to do so, it’s a safe bet that the candidate is full of shit. Barack Obama is, of course, full of shit when he claims Ayers is just some guy he once served on a board with who lived in his neighborhood. In the last debate, Obama told a bald-faced lied by claiming his political coming out party was not thrown at the home of Bill Ayers and his terrorist wife Bernadine Dohrn. 4 witnesses, there at the party, confirm Ayers set up the party with Obama to start his foray into politics.
* Unfortunately, the Halperin/Gibbs’s video has been removed from YouTube, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
So, Gibbs lied to Halperin, changed his story about twelve times, then refuse to actually answer the question like any sensible honest human being would. Now, he’s lying again, claiming that Obama never did a blurd for Ayers’ book. Well, in fact, Obama did, indeed, did a blurb for the book and here it is:

Obama has been consistently dishonest on his relationship with the terrorist, Bill Ayers. He has been proven a liar once again. He’s just some guy who lived in my neighborhood, huh? Yet, you got an advance copy of Ayers’ book, and you actually wrote a blurb for the book jacket praising the book and the man who bombed in an attempt to maim and kill innocent Americans. That alone disqualifies you for any office let alone the highest office in the land, and Obama worshippers who claim this is a distraction are, frankly, bat shit crazy.

Friendly Reminder: Josh Marshall Still a Nutjob
Oct 20th
Josh Marshall is still a nutjob.
His new line of attack on McCain? Well, wouldn’t you know, it’s that McCain is a racist who is trying to scare people because Obama is black and that McCain is, by even mentioning Bill Ayers and facually labeling him a “terrorist” is, trying to scare people into thinking that Obama is, himself, a muslim terrorist.
Forget the fact that McCain has gone out of his way to praise Obama as a good and decent family man who loves his country. Forget the fact that GOP has not once used race in this campaign, unlike the Democrats who have consistently called McCain a racist without any cause whatsoever. Rep. Lewis who compared McCain to George Wallace. Obama, who has repeatedly claimed McCain was trying to scare people because of his skin tone and his name, tho McCain has never mentioned EITHER at all, let alone in a context to scare anyone. Forget the fact that Ayers is actually a terrorist, and labeling him that is simply a factual observation. Forget the fact that Obama did, indeed, have a close association with Ayers and his terrorist wife, also a member of the weather underground!
Marshall doesn’t need facts. He just needs someone to attack as a racist mucracker. This guy is a lowlife, and he knows it. Lowlife tactics make sense to him. Attack everyone you disagree with as a racist and the brain deads will parrot it- what else would you expect from an intellectual heavyweight like Marshall?
UPDATE: Unfortunately, even nutjobs like Marshall get picked up and their conspiracy theories filled with misinformation are spread across the internet. Here is one person who commented on a post from someone linking to Marshall. Remember, these people, no matter how ignorant and uninformed, usually have the right to vote…their false view of reality has the chance to affect all of our lives.
“McCain’s campaign has most certainly called Obama a terrorist and worse. Have any of you heard the robo calls? They are disgusting and approved by John McCain. He is running the most dishonorable campaign I have ever seen and that includes the crap they did against John Kerry! Are people too blind to see what is going on here? McCain corrected only 2 people at his rallies while Palin keeps spouting the same things his 2 supporters said at her rallies. If something tragic happens, it is on McCain’s head! He could put an end to all this craziness by putting out a statement denouncing this kind of hatred on the 6:00 news on every major network but he won’t because he’d lose the election and he’s willing to put Obama’s life at stake in order to win!”
Of course, none of this is true. No rational person watching for the past few months would even dare claim such nonsense. But, here we have someone that is so misinformed (or possibly full of it?) that they’re actually claiming that McCain is somehow putting Obama’s life at risk, and worse that doing so is McCain’s goal!
Shameless, No Talent Whore Katy Perry Falls Repeatedly On Cake
Oct 18th
I’m Katy Perry. I kissed a girl. I liked it. Look at me sing my inane song for the 100 millionth time. I can create phony controversey! My parents were strict. I can’t stop talking about my boobs. It helps me hide this ugly face. I’ve so little shame, I’ll jump into a cake while acting like a whore while wearing what looks like a top with a big diaper for bottoms! Go me!
This, my friends, is why God created cancer.
Too harsh? I feel so bad for her parents. I bet their embarassment and shame just never ends. This, unfortunately, is what society is coming to. Peddling smut to kids, trying to popularize lesbian kisses with the teen crowd. Women with no talent known solely for their breasts and the fact they sing horrible songs about girl on girl smooches.
Sad.
