Rubberband Man/Crab Man

I just realized yesterday that the guy who plays Darnell on NBC’s My Name Is Earl is the Rubberband Man from the Office Max commercials. I saw one of those Office Max commercials, and I was like- crab man! The character’s name is Darnell and they call him crab man because he works at the crab shack.
The actor’s name is Eddie Steeples.

I saw those commercials a million times yet never remembered what he looked like enough to say- crab man! Not until I saw the show THEN saw one of the commercials. That guy’s hilarious in both the commercials and Earl.

isn’t it ironic that his last name is staples but he’s in an officemax commercial?

Actually, I screwed up and put “Staples” on the page, but if you notice the picture is labelled “eddie steeples” as is the alt text for the pic.
So his name is Steeples. Good thing you mentioned this at all, because I’ve fixed it. Too bad- it would have been cool if his name WAS Staples. But, his parents had to go and screw that up with having a slightly different name.
I wonder why I put Staples? I was in a hurry…or was I fooled into thinking of Staples via some sort of conspiracy by the corporation? Hmmmm.
