Harry Reid: Global Warming is to Blame for Everything!!
I enjoyed this section from a story posted to site for THE HILL:
Officials said Tuesday the winds and high temperatures are expected to continue. But when the fires do stop, lawmakers likely will debate the cause of the fire.
“One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday, stressing the need to pass the Democrats’ comprehensive energy package.
Moments later, when asked by a reporter if he really believed global warming caused the fires, he appeared to back away from his comments, saying there are many factors that contributed to the disaster.
What on earth does that even mean? I like the even increasing liberal knee-jerk reaction of bringing up global warming every ten seconds in regards to every issue on earth. I see many news outlets reporting that this was arson. Maybe global warming caused some idiot to go out, buy a lighter, and throw it into a field of dry brush?
The things these guys say sometimes just astounds me. Spend less time making stupid comments and more time doing the job your overpaid to do maybe?

Josh; even if 1 fire was started by arson; it’s the conditions created by very hot weather, and very long dry spells that have led to the fire being so large and destructive.
Whether or not global warming/climate change is to blame for leading to the meteorological conditions that are so condusive to huge fires – it’s still 100% fact that meteorological conditions are to blame.
Your lighter argument is as oversimplified as it’s stupid.

…it’s not global warming that causes people to light fires – and only an idiot would read Reid’s words that way. It’s about the fact that the climatic conditions that produced the conditions for the fires to be so widespread MAY BE to blame.
Stop being so childish with your arguments – it either marks you at as wilfully ignorant, or just plain ignorant.

Of course he wasn’t saying global warming caused someone to start a fire. I was kidding.
There’s no way any reasonable person could ever say “the reason for A is global warming, I said it, that’s the story, end of story.” And worse, trying to use this reasoning to scare people into supporting his plan?
Point was- there’s little denying that in the past 2 years (or so), many people (mainly liberals in power) have taken to absurd talk of doom and gloom, the world is coming to an end, the poles melting into oblivion drowning us all, etc. The whole thing is fairly laughable in my view, so…
